In most cases the answer is no. You can come to Family Planning to be tested by the nurses. You can also be treated with antibiotics by the nurses using standing orders from ND Family Planning signed by our Medical Director. However, if you have signs or symptoms of an infection, you will need to see a doctor right away.

The State Lab, our nurse, and the provider here at Family Planning. Other than us, NO ONE will find out. We use a medical record that only our staff can access. Even your regular doctor will not have access to this information unless you sign a Release of Information. However, we do ask you to tell us about your sexual contact(s), and we will annonymously contact them on your behalf. We will notify them of "an exposure" and encourage them to get tested. We will not tell them who, what, when, or even where!! It is our duty to ensure that anyone with an infection gets testing and treated to prevent further spread!

Yup. As long as you get a monthly period, you are releasing eggs. If an egg is fertilized, you will become pregnant. The only guarenteed way not to get pregnant is to not have sex. However, there are several methods of birth control that are VERY VERY effective. Your provider can help you decide which will work best for you!

If you are under 21 years old. most times you absolutely do not need one. You will need a health exam/vital signs and report your health history to the provider. If you are over 21 years of age, you will follow pap guidelines set up by your provider. ***IF YOU HAVE HAD A RECENT PAP at another clinic, it is very helpful to bring a copy of the report to your appointment

Yes. Sometimes vaginal bleeding during ovulation can happen and this bleeding can be mistaken for a period. Ovulation is your most fertile time of the month! Also, sperm can survive for a few days and can fertilize an egg... making pregnancy possible.

Yes, certain antibiotics do! It is VERY improtant to tell your doctor that you are taking the birth control pill if he prescribes antibiotics for you. ALWAYS use a back up method (like condoms) if you have vaginal sex. Otherwise, you can always refrain from vaginal sex until your mediation is completed. Your doctor will advise you when it is safe to resume normal activity.

It means that if you are uncomfortable recieving a bill in the mail, we will work with you to arrange a payment method that protects your sexual health information. If you choose to be a "confidential client", we will refrain from billing your private health insurance so that your household will not get an Explaniation of Benefits from your insurance company. However. the entire amount of your bill would then be determined by famiy income and number of household members.

If you qualify for reduced fees, you will either be responsible for 0%, 25%, or 75% of your bill. If you have private/public insurance, your fee will only apply to what the insurance doesn't cover. In many cases, insurane will cover the entire visit

No. Family planning does not disscriminate based on age or anything else. We encourage family participation in your heath care, but we do not require it.

Under Age 21-- Pap test is NOT recommended Age 21-29 --Pap recommended every 3 years. Age 25-29--Pap is recommended every 3 years, but MAY use HR/HPV every 5 years as an alternative to the pap if a papteient of average risk. Age 30-65-- Pap every 3 years OR HR/HPV every 3 years OR CO-test every 5 years
